Kid's Connection

Pastor Ed used to be a near-daily customer at the soda fountain of Stovall's Pharmacy (just 2 blocks north of our campus) ... a day just wasn't complete without a Cherry-Coke made the old-fashioned way! Then, in 2002, the neighborhood pharmacy closed - and the building stood empty. Passing by the facility several times each day, the dream developed of acquiring the property for use in serving the neighborhood. And, Kid's Connection is the reality of that dream come true.

We serve the needs of children in an after-school ministry operated in partnership with two other neighborhood churches: St. Paul's Episcopal and Independent Missionary Baptist ... together "Connecting Kids with Christian Community" as adult volunteers serve as mentors providing a safe after-school environment for at-risk elementary children (there's always homework assistance, games, a Bible story time, computer access, and popcorn!).

Financially, we are never much more than a month away from closing our doors — but the Lord has richly blessed this ministry and we feel we are doing a much-need work in our neighborhood.
